Accessibility Statement
We want EuropeanShops to be usable by everyone, regardless of device, input method or assistive technology.
Standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. This statement reflects a self-assessment; the site has not been audited by a third party.
What we do
The site uses semantic HTML with a single main landmark per page, visible focus indicators, and colour combinations chosen for sufficient contrast. Search, country selection, the auto-forward toggle and all result links can be operated with the keyboard alone. Icon-only controls carry text labels for screen readers, and result updates are announced in a live region.
Automatic forwarding
By default the best match opens automatically after a short countdown. This can be a barrier if you need more time, so the countdown can be switched off with the auto-forward checkbox on the start page. Your choice is remembered on your device, and every match always stays reachable as a normal link.
Known limitations
Once you are forwarded, you are on an external shop's website. We have no influence on the accessibility of those shops. Some shop pages also use bot protection, which may require an extra manual click on our side.
Feedback
If you hit an accessibility barrier, please tell us — a short description of the page and the assistive technology you use is enough. We aim to respond within a few working days. Email:
